This may be the most random post I will ever write. Just a warning.
A while back, I read an article about lucid dreaming. If you haven’t heard of it before, Lucid dreams are dreams where you recognize that you are in a dream and then have complete control over what you do. You can read more about it here. Yes, it is as cool as it sounds. I picture it being like a video game that walk around in and have complete control over.
As someone who rarely remembered her dreams, I was intrigued and super envious of people with such a skill. I read a few articles that said you can train your brain to remember your dreams by writing them down. So last November, I began a dream journal. This page also tells you more about some of the methods to begin lucid dreaming.
At first, each entry was weeks apart because I rarely remembered what I had dreamt about. As time went on, my entries got closer and closer together. These days, I have about one vivid dream every few days.
The idea is that if you can have very vivid dreams on a nightly basis, that eventually you may be able to realize you are in the dream and assert control. I’m still working on it and I know it seems like a crazy (and slightly silly) goal but it’s on my 30 before 30 list.
Can you lucid dream? Do you have vivid dreams?
And a Happy Mother’s day to all the Moms out there!
