One week of outfits that are new to me! No repeats! All the fun! If you want to join in and do a few days with me, I’d love that. Here’s my original post where I explained what my #liftedherlook challenge is and why I’m doing it. I’m having a ton of fun doing this.
For full transparency, I’ll tell you exactly where I got each item. I’ll share a link using an affiliate link if the item is still available or I know where you can buy it at a regular store (not a thrift store) if that’s an option. But I promise I’ll never tell you that I got something at Nordstrom if I really got it at a thrift, consignment store, or Poshmark. I’m a bargain shopper, guys.
I’d also encourage you to click the bloggers below whose looks I copied and use their links for the original look if you liked it.
As always, I wouldn’t buy anything unless it’s on sale and I’d always encourage you to check your local Goodwill, Plato’s Closet, Poshmark, or other local thrift store first. You’ll see as I do this challenge that much of my wardrobe was found secondhand and if it wasn’t, it was on sale.
Also – REMINDER. I got 6% cash back on the Old Navy order I placed online using Ebates. I’ve made $122 so far! Use this link if you want $10 back the first time you use Ebates. Don’t forget to download the browser extension so that you get a pop up every time you are on a site that has an Ebates offer. It keeps me from forgetting to use it.
Tuesday
After the long weekend I wanted something comfy and practical. I selected this look from Lauren (@laurenebown), whose blog I’ve been reading for forever (since we were both sitting in grey cubicles!). She is a master of cute casual looks and athleisure.

Here’s my version:
This striped tee from Target last year (they still sell it) and is perfect for layering. It washes well (i.e. I’ve washed mine 500 times and it still looks good) and I have it in four colors.
The black sweater is also from Target, purchased last year. They still sell it and it comes in over a dozen colors!
Vest is Old Navy this year, as are the moto leggings.
Shoes are Nike Flyknits and are more than four years old. N and I both have Nike Flyknits and they are absurdly comfortable. They also wash well in the washing machine and come out looking brand new.
Wednesday
I’ve been seeing leopard print everywhere and had picked up a leopard sweater I’d been eyeing for some time at Target. I’d normally be tempted to wear it just by itself with some black jeans but Erin from Absolutely Airs put chambray under it and I loved the look.

I loved this look and people on instagram did too as it was the outfit that the most people commented on via my stories.
Here is the leopard sweater from A New Day at Target.
My chambray is from Banana Republic Factory and is very old.
My jeans are ASOS but I found them at a consignment store called Plato’s Closet. It’s a chain so there might be one near you! Here is their location search. I don’t think I paid more than $12 for them.
Shoes are these Vans, also found at Plato’s Closet for only $16 and they looked like they’d never been worn!
Thursday
Snow day! It was snowing like crazy in Philadelphia Thursday so I knew Ben and I were going to stay inside all day and be cozy. It was a sweats day for sure.
Here’s the cozy look I tried from Aylin:

And here’s my version:
Hat is my favorite purchase from Black Friday last year. I got it at Abercrombie for $10!
Tee is the linen boyfriend tee from Old Navy in Icelandic Mineral.
Joggers are these from Old Navy, also in Icelandic Mineral. I now own three items in Icelandic Mineral from Old Navy. I love it! Is it blush? Grey? Slightly purpley? It’s all of those!
Sweater is from Old Navy two years ago.
Slippers were a Gap super clearance find and I paid less than $5 for them.
Friday
Friday it was chilly and I was headed out to lunch with a friend so I knew I needed to be bundled.
I loved this look from Lynzy because I knew I had such similar pieces and could easily throw this look together. I keep seeing bloggers do a scrunched boot sock with booties and I decided to try it. It’s a little outside of my comfort zone and even though I felt a little silly, I was so comfortable! My feet were toasty warm!

And here’s my version:
Hat, as mentioned above.
My turtleneck sweater is from Old Navy. It’s on sale for $20 today. I’ve seen it on lots of bloggers and it’s super comfortable and flattering. Good for doing a little front tuck or not – looks cute either way. I’ve worn it three times since I bought it and it has not pilled yet.
My jeans are old and are from Gap. I found them on Clearance They are the high-rise sculpt skinny jeans. The sculpt you guys…it does things. I love it. They seem to only sell the sculpt in a mid-rise now although the pictures used in that link are the same as when I bought it and they were listed as high-rise…?
My coat is that J.Crew one. I’m sure you’ve seen it a million times. I bought it labor day weekend for 40% off. It’s actually 40% off right now too! It was 85 degrees out and I bought a winter coat. It was sad to not be able to wear it for months but on that first cold day I was so happy!
Booties are from Nordstrom. Shoes are really the only thing I buy from Nordstrom because I do think good quality shoes are important and I was sick of buying cheap shoes that didn’t hold up or weren’t comfortable. I bought these on sale during one of the anniversary sales last year. They are crazy comfortable! I can walk all over the city in them.
Saturday
Friday night/Saturday morning were BRUTAL with teething over here. Brutal. We basically took turns napping all day and then took Archie to get his rabies shot. Obviously I needed a cute outfit for this thrilling day of completely normal life.
Here was my inspiration from Ashley at Twenties Girl Style (despite the fact that I’m not in my twenties anymore ha).

And here’s my version:
I found this sweater at Old Navy marked down to $15! I almost think it was an error because it’s still listed at $30 online and even the woman at checkout seemed surprised. She knew it was such a good deal that she actually had another sales woman grab her one in her size as I checked out!
Henley is very old Gap Factory that I sometimes wear as a pj top. I don’t have one of those Urban Outfitters thermal tops that everyone seems to have but this achieved a similar look.
Jeans are actually the Levi’s 311 Slimming Skinny Jeans. I loved them when I did my Levi’s try on from Amazon but then found this pair on Poshmark for $20!
Booties are from Sole Society. I got them on sale for $49. They are still $49 but they only have a few sizes left. I love Sole Society boots and this is actually my third pair. They hold up very well, even in yucky weather.
Sunday
I knew I wanted to wear my red tartan plaid flannel shirt from Old Navy because we were taking family photos for our Christmas card. I bought Ben a matching flannel and N the matching scarf.
Lauren from By Lauren M is one of my all time favorites. I love that she always looks trendy and cute but she also has two kids and everything she wears makes sense for that. I don’t love seeing pics on Instagram of Moms just casually wearing stilettos on a Tuesday while chasing around toddlers. Mmmhmm…sure you are.
I decided to do this look without a vest. I love that she did some pattern mixing and I wouldn’t have thought to put a flannel underneath of a sweater like this but it was perfect because it kept me and Ben from looking too matchy matchy for our photos.

Here is my version:
My flannel is from Old Navy. I bought it on sale but when I was at Plato’s Closet last weekend I found an entire rack of flannel shirts, all priced under $8! If you want to add a flannel shirt to your wardrobe and don’t want to spend too much, check them out first. They had lots of cute buffalo plaid. I was tempted to buy another!
Sweater is H&M via Plato’s Closet. It was $10 and is one of the fancier knits with alpaca in it so that felt like a good deal to me.
Gap jeans, as mentioned above.
Shoes are the Kristin Cavallari Mules. They’re sold out at Nordstrom but Zappos has them on sale and has all sizes in stock!
So that was week one!
I had so much fun! If you want to see my outfits day by day, follow along on Instagram where I’m sharing my looks each day on my stories.
