The Facts of Nadine

Today, I’m participating in a link up with Whitney from I Wore Yoga Pants to Work for The Facts of Me. I’m so excited to visit other bloggers from this link up and read all about their quirks too!

Fact – I used to like Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts but now I’m spoiled with my Keurig and I want my coffee exactly the way that I make it. No other coffee compares (thank you Columbian Fair Trade and Nantucket k-cups!). Does that make me old? I’m stuck in my ways!

Fact – I think I’m super awkward when I take outfit pics. How to bloggers make their pictures look so good? Sometimes my outfit is great but something is just off. Is it my posing? The backgrounds? Is it the lighting?

Fact – Sometimes I talk to Archie as though he is my biological child. I regularly remind him that he has his Mom’s blonde hair and his dad’s dark brown eyes. It’s normal. Or maybe not. But I’ve made peace with it.

Someone was a big fan of the snow last night.

Fact – In college for our Senior Day for Delta Gamma, we were paired off with another senior and our groups picked a theme. Kaylin and I were on team FMA, Future Mom’s of America. At the time I was kind of embarrassed. Like, is there nothing else I am known for? Later, Nav’s best friend told me I had “Mom skills” and again, I didn’t see it as a compliment. Now I’ve accepted it. It’s a good thing. I like to take care of people and I’ve got my head on straight. My Mom skills will come in handy some day.

Fact – At any given time I’m hooked on one tv show. I find a show that has several seasons available on Netflix and then I watch anywhere from 2-10 episodes a day until I’m “caught up” with where the current season is. Right now I’m hooked on Parenthood. Previous addictions have included: Bones, Downton Abbey, Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother, and many, many others.

Fact – After college I had no idea what to do with myself. I had no plan. No real goals. So I worked at a summer camp in mid-coast Maine. It was my last summer as a “kid” and I didn’t appreciate it enough. Sometimes I wish I could go back for a summer and just run around again.

Fact – I think I might be the only women on the planet who saw Les Misérables and was thought it was decidedly meh. Too many close ups of people singing.

Fact – Since becoming a vegetarian, my pizza consumption has increased drastically. I have zero good ideas for dinner. Ever.
Fact – Since getting Archie, I really want to move to a house with a fenced in yard. Last night, I begged Naveed for one. Please, Nav!

Fact – I see Naveed, Archie and me as a family. When other people don’t see us that way or I can tell they see Naveed is just my “boyfriend” it makes me a little upset.

Did you participate in this link up? If so, feel free to leave a link to yours in the comments!

  • I love Modern Family and How I Met Your Mother! I also love my Keurig as well, but I won’t turn down some DD or Starbucks. You absolutely need a back yard for Archie to run in! That was a requirement when we bought our house last June. Gracie and Mac couldn’t be happier running around back there, free from leashes! Plus, mommy likes it too…especially when it is freezing or raining!

  • Hehe, I love that you talk to Archie like that…I talk to my pup the same way. Others would for sure say it’s crazy, I say it’s perfectly normal 🙂

    xo, Courtney

  • I talk to my dogs as if they are my children, too! I call one of them, “My Boo Boo.” I don’t know how that started… but anyway, I sometimes let that slip when I’m talking to real people! I texted my best guy friend, “hey, Boo boo!” His response: “Who says that?!”

  • My fiance used to work at a summer camp in Maine too…he loved it! And don’t worry…my mom told me she HATED Les Mis hahaha

  • I’m the same way! I talk to my dogs as if they are my children and as if they understand me. I’m just going to decide that it’s normal, haha.

  • Super adorable puppy! I talk to my dog like he is my child too 🙂 We lived in an apartment for the first year that we had our puppy (got him when he was 8 weeks) and we just bought a house with a fenced in yard about five months ago and it is the greatest thing ever!

  • I talk to my dogs and my cat that way, I think it is totally normal 🙂

We do the saaaaaame thing with TV shows, either on Netflix or on HBOGO. Right now we are watching Deadwood.

  • Oh I talk to my dog allll day long. No shame, girl!! Plus yours is SO adorable!!

  • New follower from the link up! ahh so happy you felt that way about les mis – it just didnt do it for me! I dont know what i missed but it was meh for me too!

  • Ever since getting my Keurig- I do not go to Starbucks but rarely. We just moved back from Germany and it was pure torture being without my Keurig for over a month! UGH!

  • Hha I totally talk to Bronx like he’s my kid. I once told LoLo that I don’t need a real baby because I have Bronx! And girl, you Nav and Archie are totally a family. I used to hate when people would judge me and LoLo as “only” boyfriend and girlfriend.

  • I’m obsessed with my Keurig too. Once it broke and that was the worst day of my life. Oh and yes, I hate referring to Chris as my “boyfriend”..we’ve been together 6 years for heavens sake. Nav is technically your “puppy-daddy” so that makes him more than “boyfriend” in my opinion!

  • Loved getting to know you through your post! I am your new follower 🙂

  • The mom skills are definitely a good thing. My friends joke about how awkward I am, so it could be worse 🙂

I gave up on Parenthood last year and I know I shouldn’t have, especially since everyone’s been talking about how great it is lately!

And after I graduated I did the no idea thing either and that’s how I became an au pair, except that was a year of goofing off and I’m still here so I may have pushed it a bit…

  • I am a new follower!!! Your puppy is adorable!! I have 2 goldens!!!

I also love parenthood!! Such I good show!! It should be easier to catch up since the season is done now!!

Feel free to stop by and say hello sometime!!

  • I want a Keurig so bad, and how much you love yours makes me want one even more haha.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that feels awkward taking outfit pics – I’ve never posted one because I look like such a goober!
    Archie is SO cute!
Netflix is amazing – I’ve been the same way since we’ve gotten it 😀
Love your blog, definitely a new follower.

  • I have just recently stumbled upon your blog, so I love that this post helped me get to “know” you better. My pug IS my biological son, and my dog, bf, and I certainly are a little family!

  • Im here from northern belle diaries. You have a new follower 😀 my dogs are also my children & I’m a vegetarian too
