The Cure for Nasty Cuticles

I wish I had something important to say as a follow up to my post about Coming Down with the Crazies. Unfortunately, not much has changed in two days although I’m happy to report that I haven’t cried for no reason.

(Except that one time that I realized Nav’s chicken in the fridge expired and now we had to throw it away and the chicken’s died and we just threw them away. Yeah, except for that.)

This photo has nothing to do with this post. But my trusty sidekick says Hi!
Moving on…one of my 30 before 30 goals is to stop biting my nails and cuticles. It’s a really bad and gross habit but I always have my fingers in my mouth. At any given time one of my cuticles is bleeding or peeling or generally making other people not want to shake my hand/touch me ever.

It’s gross. I get it. And I need to stop.

So on that random CVS trip I took, I hit up the band-aid aisle to do what I normally do: get band-aids to cover my fingers in vaseline and then cover them for a day or two to heal. When out of the blue I discover: New-Skin Liquid Bandage.

The freakin box says right on it that it’s great for hangnails. So I grabbed a bottle and I’ve been covering my fingers in the stuff ever since.

See how my cuticles look shiny? But they aren’t bleeding!
It’s pretty weird stuff because it looks like a bottle of nail polish (and smells a bit like it too). You just paint your cuticles instead of nails.

I’ve had my fingers in my mouth at least 80% less (super statistically accurate) since I got the stuff. My cuticles are already looking better.

See, just when I felt like I wasn’t accomplishing anything in life, I can go ahead and say I’m at least working on one of my 30 before 30 goals (pats herself on the back).
Needless to say, I’m winning at life today. Okay, maybe not. But at least my dog is adorable.
