6 Songs I Never Get Sick Of

Every once in a while, a song comes along that I just cannot get sick of. No matter how many times I hear it, I still love it. I know you have a few like that too. Right now I’m loving Uptown Funk but I know if I listen to it maybe 16 more times, I’ll hate it. For any Katy Perry song, it only takes 4 listens and I’m over it. And any Pitbull song, you can bet that’s one and done.

6 Songs I Never Get Sick Of

Here are the songs that are on my forever the best, never get sick of, play again and again, list:

1. Signed, Sealed, Delivered – Stevie Wonder

It’s just so good. It would make a semi-cheesy recessional at our wedding but don’t think for a second that I’m not considering it.

2. Best I Ever Had – Gavin Degraw

I like to listen to this song loud. Loud is not something I usually do but when this comes on, I crank it. And when he gets to “But I’ve read that soda kills you and Jesus saves, On a bathroom wall where I saw your name” I can’t help but yell it out. It’s not a particularly moving lyric but I find it so silly and fun.

I also prefer to listen to this song with the windows completely open on the freeway. Because some songs just deserve crazy hair and a total lack of self-consciousness.

3. She’s Every Woman – Garth Brooks

This isn’t one of Garth’s most popular songs (and trust me, I love all of those too), but the lyrics are absolute perfection. He describes feeling about a woman the exact way that I want a man (N) to feel about me. It has, on occasion, brought me to tears.

4. Wake Me Up – Avicii

I’m waiting to get sick of this song but I probably listen to it once a day and still feel like it’s absolutely amazing. It almost makes me think I might like techno/electronic music but then I think…nah.

5. Lights (Bassnectar Remix) – Ellie Goulding

My love of this song (and this remix in particular) is probably due to the fact that we’ve watched the below video like 500 times. It makes me feel so alive. Put it on the biggest screen you own and enjoy.

6. Ain’t No Mountain High Enough – Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell

If it comes on, I will sing. I will sing at the top of my lungs and I’ll smile the whole damn time.

I would LOVE to make a fabulous playlist out of some other reader favorites. Tell me, what song/songs have you just never gotten sick of?

  • Totally agree on Garth Brooks. My favorites of his are “Callin’ Baton Rouge” and “Ain’t Goin’ Down ’til the Sun Comes Up.” And re: Pitbull, I don’t think he’s musically talented by any stretch, but oh my gosh, if I hear the first two beats of “Timber,” I’m up and dancing and singing along. No shame at all. Happy Friday!

  • That is my favorite Garth song, too! Also, I feel the same way about Katy Perry songs. They get old real fast.

  • love some of these! Stevie is my go to cheer up. <3

  • I love Ellie Goulding. She’s definitely a go-to on my iTunes.

  • Rose

Yes! Ain’t No Mountain High Enough is definitely one of my top jams that I always sing at the top of my lungs when I hear it.

  • I love wake me up! Every time it comes on now my husband groans because I’ve played it so much haha.

  • So many of those are SO SO good! Love signed, sealed, delivered – like you, I think that song will never get old. Thanks for sharing!

  • #2..you just HAVE to roll down the windows and sing it!

  • Oh, I love Ellie Goulding! I could listen to her music all day, every day. 🙂

  • Erin

I’m with you & Uptown Funk, I’m really enjoying that song so much right now. So much so that it was the first song I went & added to my iTunes on my phone with a gift card I recently got. It’s so upbeat, fun & catchy! Have you seen the video the teacher made with a bunch of students throughout the school singing to it? Def. worth a watch if you happen to see it. I’m not a super fan of hers or anything but there are a few lines in T. Swifts Blank Space that I wait through the whole song just to be able to sing/say: ‘I can make the bad guys good for a weekend’ and ‘I’m nightmare, dressed like a day dream’. It’s not that there the most catchy lines of the song or anything not sure why but I just really like those little lines…
Hope you & N have a good weekend. Fun or relaxing whichever sounds like the best way to spend you 2 days of the weekend.

  • Except for number 5 I am with you, can’t place number 5 in my memory

  • Valerie

Somewhere Only We Know — Keane. Absolute favorite. And I love Ellie Goulding too!

  • Signed, Sealed, Delivered and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough are WONDERFUL! I don’t think I’ve ever thought of which songs I don’t get sick of, but now I may have to seriously consider which tunes would end up on that list.

  • I request “signed, sealed, delivered” at every. single. wedding. It’s just so fun! I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran or You Are The Best Thing by Ray LaMantagne (which just so happened to be our recessional song)

  • I’m liking With or Without You by U2 right now, but my song tastes change all the time, so who knows?:) I just wanted to comment, too, to say hi Nadine! I’m a new subscriber and I think your blog is hilarious and great! Archie is so cute and you and N are adorable! Keep up the great blogging, girl!:)

  • I’m 100% on board with almost every one of these. And we did actually have Signed, Sealed, Delivered as our recessional song… Every other song I thought of/was recommended just didn’t give us the happies that Stevie Wonder did.. And that moment is such a great moment that I loved practically dancing back up the aisle with my new husband!!

  • Right now I can’t stop listening to “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran and also, don’t judge me for this one, but on Glee they did an acoustic version of Teenage Dream in season 4. (They did one version in season 2 but then they did another one recorded live season 4) it’s one million times better than the original Katy Perry.

  • YES on lights and wake me up. I can never listen to those songs too many times!

  • Uptown Funk would probably make my list. I can’t get enough.

  • the only songs that comes to mind are from Lana del Rey : Born to Die and National Anthem. I can’t get enough of these two !

  • Kara

There is an offbeat radio station here that plays Safety Dance ALL THE TIME and everytime it comes on, I can’t help but smile and do my own little safety dance 🙂

  • Hi !! I love Lights too, but I never get sick of Chandelier ! Great post, I really enjoy meeting other musical preferences.
